Gopher Gymnastics
Before every event (floor, bars, beam, and vault) at a Gopher Gymnastics meet there is a 30-40 second highlight reel to introduce it. I was asked to create one of the four event hypes-I chose bars. At the end of these hype videos there is a text bumper to allow some time for whatever is going on in the stadium to start before turning the lights back up. I was asked to create new bumpers for all four events and was given creative freedom with how they looked and felt. I was also asked to create a similar bumper for the intro video that would play at the beginning of the meet before the team comes out.

Proof of Concept
Gymnasts, maybe more than any other athletes, take a lot of pride in their uniforms. To reflect this in their scoreboard show production I used highlights of their leotards from media day as a backbone to each animation. The motion at the beginning was added to give the bumpers more visual interestest and bring it closer to the actual sport of gymnastics rather than just static text. The typography and effects is also inspired by aspects of their uniforms, like the sparkle in the gems or the shine to the gold.
